Boozy Iced Coffee

by Kim Lane

We love sweets at all times of the year, and we are constantly on the lookout for the perfect sweet drink to match the season. As much as we love this summer-to-fall transition period, sometimes it’s hard to match the mood, and we are often faced with a dilemma: do we drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte in 80-degree temps, or stick with our favorite fruity summer drink? But, we’ve found an answer: boozy iced coffee with cinnamon and hazelnut undertones. This drink is perfect for those days when you need a little caffeine jolt, and you want to get a little taste of fall while doing it.

Boozy Iced Coffee
yields one cup

Six cups of French-pressed (or extra strong) coffee, chilled
Handful of ice cubes
2 tbsp. Frangelico
2 tbsp. half and half
1 tbsp. sugar
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings

1. Make coffee. If you’re using a pot, add a couple more tablespoons of coffee grounds than usual. A regular batch of French-pressed coffee will work as-is. Once coffee is brewed, let it cool in the refrigerator overnight or 1-3 hours until chilled.

2. Fill your favorite mug or glass with ice, then add coffee until mug is 1/3rd full.

3. Add half and half, sugar, cream and Frangelico.

4. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

5. Enjoy outside!
