When it comes to milkshakes, my thoughts are the more stuff, the better. I love to layer flavors and textures. So rather than just a basic marshmallow and peanut butter milkshake, I decide to kick it up a notch with caramel ice cream and rice crispy treats.
Pretty much I think you can dump anything (within reason) into a blender and come out with a yummy milkshake. Start by melting peanut butter in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Use this to garnish the inside of the glass. (Save some to drizzle on top too.)
Go ahead and chop up the rice crispy treat. I used these Marshmallow Farms treats that we featured in the July box. So fluffy and yummy! Set a few pieces aside for garnish, but the rest will be tossed into the milkshake.
Next up, throw the ice cream (4 generous scoops for 2 milkshakes), milk and peanut butter into the blender.
Blend well, and add the rice crispy treats!
We want to add the treats last to keep them from getting too soggy. Blend as much as you want based on how chunky you like your milkshakes. If you’re more of an “eat with a spoon” kind of person, a quick blitz is all you need.
I love the color contrast of the peanut butter and the milkshake!
Garnish with whipped cream, rice crispy pieces, caramel or leftover melted peanut butter (basically, pile all the stuff)!
