Even when it’s cold outside, I find myself craving ice cream. Of course, when it’s hot outside I find myself craving ice cream. So maybe I just love the stuff regardless what’s happening outside my window.
I’ve always had trouble getting my ice to break up in a milkshake so eventually I just started leaving it out. And you know what? I’ve never looked back. Now, it’s going to make the milkshake SUPER rich, so you really can’t (shouldn’t) drink that much of it. But the results are smooth, perfectly drinkable ice cream.
For this milkshake, I went super simple, a good vanilla ice cream (Loblolly double vanilla) and Grey Ghost chocolate chip pecan cookies.
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
3-4 Grey Ghost chocolate chip cookies
Break the cookies up into small pieces so they don’t get stuck in the blender. Nothing worse than giant chunks that get stuck in the straw.
Put the entire pint of ice cream in the blender, add 1/2 cup of milk. Blend until incorporated.
Add cookie chunks and blend.
Top milkshake with additional cookie pieces. If I had thought about it, I would have put a huge dollop of whipped cream. I recommend it, because really, calories don’t count at this point.
This photo is the entire contents of the blender. In reality, you should make two smaller milkshakes (Or two straws!) I love the texture that the cookie bits add throughout. And the flavor of the pecans makes the whole thing a very yummy dessert.
