What’s better than food on a stick?

I was pretty sure there’s a national food holiday for pretty much everything, and when I came upon “National Food on a Stick Day,” I was certain of the fact.

But let’s face it, food on a stick is pretty awesome. Why?
1. It’s immediately portable.
2. It’s almost always delicious.
3. Novelty. Hello? It’s on a stick.

When you think food on a stick, it’s usually savory (think corndog), but the sweet foods on sticks have made a surge. From cake pops to popsicles to our pie pops for Pi Day. So I wanted to come up with something a little different and fun for such a unique day.

Enter layered cookie dough pops.

1 4 oz cup Edoughble ready-to-eat cookie dough
Caramel sauce (I had some I previously made, but the jarred stuff works too)
Crispy rice cereal
Melted chocolate

Since there are several layers, the cookie dough layer can be pretty small. Roll out small balls of cookie dough. I was able to get a dozen from the cup of Edoughble. Melt chocolate and use it to place pop sticks into cookie dough. Place in freezer for 15 minutes or until dough is frozen.9052b

Dip cookie dough into caramel, tapping off the excess. Immediately roll in rice cereal. Place back in freezer until caramel is frozen. I only put mine back for a few minutes and some of the cereal came off in the next step.


I’ve done this before and they were in the freezer much longer and the cereal stayed in place. If the cereal comes off, just put them back in the freezer.


Once frozen, dip pops into chocolate. Allow chocolate to dry. If you want to add a sprinkle of sea salt, festive sprinkles or a drizzle of white chocolate, now would be the time.


These little bites are really rich, very flavorful and have lots of fun textures. They’re one of my favorite snacks I’ve come up with recently!
